The Hinge:
The hinge is the most important part of the conversion, apart from time and
labor.
Displayed above is a real Lamborghini door hinge used for kit cars. The cheapest way
to have Lambo doors on your car is to go to a Lamborghini
dealer and purchase the hinges
and then modify your car to the hinges.
The cost for each hinge, approximately $100-250/pc.
If you know someone that works at a machine shop, have them look at your door and they
should be able to manufacture a pair of custom hinges for your vehicle. Otherwise, you will
need to purchase a pair of hinges.
If you just want to purchase the fabricated hinges or complete kits, below is information

(These door hinge castings are 8630 alloy steel, the pins are 4130 chromolly. They cost $395.)
Below is a picture of the passenger side door of a kit car being built with
Lambo style
doors, the kit car method.
As you can see, they placed the hinge at the top corner of the door.
Also note the mounting
of the strut.
